A brand this old does not need to be made to look old. It needs the clubs to look as good as they are, and the checkout to be short.
MacGregor has made golf clubs since 1829. Today it sells them direct to the golfer — drivers, irons and putters through complete sets, bags, junior equipment and bare heads for clubmakers — on the promise of uncompromising quality at unbeatable prices. The storefront had to carry two centuries of name and still feel like the cheapest place to buy a good iron.
I built the store on BigCommerce: a black-and-green system that puts the product photography first — the clubs are the design — and a catalogue that reads the way a golfer shops, by set, by club, by hand, by junior. Category tiles, a rotating press strip, best-sellers and the history panel all live on one home page without fighting each other, and every product page ends in the same green Buy Heads Only / Buy Now decision.
Free shipping, hassle-free returns, safe payments and the 12-month warranty sit in one row under the fold, because for a direct-to-consumer brand those four lines are the reassurance the pro shop used to be.
