A nonprofit site has one job: shorten the distance between caring and giving. Everything else on these three sites is there to make that first step feel earned.
Educare Now is a Minneapolis nonprofit working with children in Haiti, Uganda and Tanzania under one line — learn today, lead tomorrow. I built its web presence end to end: the main site with country-by-country programme pages, a blog, a store and a donation portal; a dedicated site for Educare Haiti; and a third for the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics league it runs in Haiti.
The main site is built to move a visitor from a photograph to a gift in as few steps as I could manage — programmes explained by country, a blog that carries the news from Athens and Arusha, a small store of hand-made goods from the communities, and a donation form with preset amounts. The Haiti site carries its own story, programmes and giving page in a warmer palette. The FTC site is the odd one out and the most fun: French first, eight languages in total, with a season countdown, team profiles by school, results and a gallery.
Three sites, one system — the same type, the same blue, and a Give button that is always in the same place.
