Colitas is a pet-care app for Costa Rica: health records and a vet directory, adoption matching, a shop, pet-friendly places and a community feed with Discover, Following and Nearby. I designed and built it end to end and shipped it to the App Store myself — a free app with in-app purchases.
The home screen is a grid of everything at once — veterinarians, adoption, the pet shop, pet-friendly places, donations, a quiz game, my pets — and the rest of the app is those eight things done properly. Adoption is a card grid filtered by species, each animal with its sex, age and shelter. Health Care lists online doctors and nearby clinics with ratings and booking. Pet Friendly is a map-backed directory of parks and beaches, filtered by city.
The feed is what makes it a community rather than a directory: a two-column wall of photos with likes, comments and hashtags, and a Nearby tab so the people you meet are the people at the same park. Donations run through the same app, under a "give a second chance" banner on the home screen.
